I hate to rant and rave on this beautiful Easter Sunday, but. . . I must. First of all, we invited my husband's brother and his wife and 3 kids (Brady's family for you old timer's) and also my husband's cousin and his wife and child. Well, I don't know about most people, but when I have guests coming I go to a lot of trouble to plan the perfect meal and clean the house till it's sparkling clean. I decorated the house with spring flowers and my mantle with greenery and spring flowers mixed in with tiny white lights. It is beautiful! I made Easter baskets for each child coming and put out 50 eggs for an egg hunt. The eggs are full of either candy or $1 bills! Then I made this meal to die for, grilled turkey, sweet potato casserole, 7 layer salad, garlic mashed potatoes, crock pot mac and cheese and homemade yeast rolls. I made fresh strawberry pies with vanilla whipped creme for dessert. A meal fit for a king! Ok, here's my beef. It is now after 5:00 pm and no one has arrived! My husband called his brother 3 hours ago and he said they'd be here at 3:30. Then he called his cousin and they said they weren't going to be able to make it!!! How about calling and telling us! My delicious food has been sitting on the counter for over 2 hours! I am leaving here in 20 minutes for tonight's performance of the Easter program at church and so. . . .
I spent about $150.00 at the store yesterday to make everything really nice for today. I am so angry!! Anyway. . .Y'all come over and eat all this food!!
I better go. I have to finish getting ready for church. Bye

That is just plain rude and hateful. How could they? I just can't imagine what goes through some peoples minds. What a wonderful dinner you made. I do hope that you and your family were at least able to enjoy it together. Cheer up honey. I wish I could give you a big {{HUG}} Enjoy the rest of Easter.

That's pretty scummy of the people. Heck, had I known you were cooking, I would have come over with my gang! Sounds like a wonderful feast and consider it their loss. Happy Easter!
I feel so sorry that you,once again were treated like you don't matter. It is time you realized that there is nothing you can do to make some people,even family care how they treat you. God will bless you for being so forgiven, but enough is enough. Go out into the kitchen open the fridge, bring a chair and sit in front of the box and eat until your anger is gone, then do not invite them again. I know some family that would love to come.
