OK, I have a request for the recipe for my Krispy Kreme Kasserole. (Actually, I must give credit where it is due "Paula Dean's recipe from the food network") It is sinfully delicious! You put that 1st spoonful in your mouth and all you can say is "o-h, m-y, G-o-d." So here it is:
2 Dozen Krispy Kreme donuts (or any glazed will do)
1 Can of sweetened condensed milk
1 15 oz can of fruit cocktail (with juice)
2 beaten eggs
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
a pinch of salt
Pre-heat oven to 350*. Cut donuts into 8 pieces (1/2, 1/2 and 1/2 again) and put into a very large bowl. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. pour into a large casserole dish sprayed lightly with cooking spray. Bake for about 45 minutes.
Drizzle for the top:
1 Stick of butter
1 box powdered sugar
Milk or rum (to thin)
Melt butter in a medium sized pot and add powdered sugar. Add milk (or rum) very slowly while stirring until well blended and the consistency of thick pancake syrup. Drizzle over warm casserole and serve. Best served hot or warm, but I wouldn't spit it out if it were cold either!
ENJOY!!
